Overview
Construction Project Management System (CPMS)
A Construction Project Management System gives contractors, developers and consultants one place to plan and control building and civil works. Extrion Tech can design and develop it in-house around the way your projects are actually run: a work breakdown structure tied to the bill of quantities, a programme of activities with planned and actual dates, and a cost ledger that shows committed, certified and paid amounts for every element.
On a typical project in Zanzibar or mainland Tanzania, progress is measured on site, valued against BOQ rates, and certified before the client pays. The system follows that cycle. Site engineers record measured quantities, quantity surveyors prepare valuations, variations are logged with their cause and approval trail, and interim payment certificates are generated with retention and advance-payment recovery calculated automatically. Project managers see earned value, schedule slippage and cash flow forecasts without reconciling separate spreadsheets.
The platform can be scoped as a standalone tool for one company or as a portfolio view across several concurrent projects. Typical additions include document control for drawings and RFIs, subcontractor packages, photo-based progress reports and executive dashboards. Contract forms, approval levels and reporting formats are agreed with you during analysis so the system reflects your contracts rather than forcing a generic template.
Business problems it addresses
- Progress, cost and BOQ data sit in separate spreadsheets that rarely agree at month end.
- Variations are agreed verbally on site and are hard to recover or justify later.
- Interim payment certificates take days to prepare and contain calculation errors.
- Management cannot see which projects are behind programme or over budget until it is too late.
- Drawings, RFIs and instructions are scattered across email and WhatsApp threads.

Integrations
Security & data integrity
Protecting your data and its accuracy
Commercial data such as rates, valuations and margins is restricted by role and project, so site staff, subcontractors and consultants only see what their involvement requires.
Standard protections
-
Role-based access control
Each user sees only what their role allows.
-
Authentication and authorisation
Every request is checked for a signed-in, permitted user.
-
Fine-grained permissions
Permissions per module and action, such as view, edit or approve.
-
Secure password storage
Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing, never in plain text.
-
Encryption in transit
HTTPS/TLS protects data between users and the server.
-
Server-side input validation
All input is validated on the server before it is saved.
-
Protection against common web vulnerabilities
Defences against injection, cross-site scripting and request forgery.
-
Database constraints and transactions
Constraints and transactions keep related records consistent.
-
Audit logs
Important actions are recorded with who, what and when.
-
User activity history
A history of each user’s activity for supervisors and administrators.
-
Backup and restoration
Scheduled backups with tested restoration procedures.
-
Session management
Session time-outs and the ability to sign out other devices.
-
Offline mode with controlled synchronisation
Work offline and synchronise safely when the connection returns.
Optional advanced protections
- Multi-factor authentication A second sign-in step for selected or all users.
- Single sign-on Sign in with your organisation’s identity provider where supported.
- Encryption at rest Sensitive data encrypted on disk where the infrastructure supports and is configured for it.
- Disaster recovery planning A documented plan to restore service after a major failure.
Data integrity
Valuations are calculated from approved quantities and locked BOQ rates, and a certificate cannot exceed remaining contract value without an approved variation. Each IPC, variation and rate change is recorded in an audit trail, and cumulative certified amounts are reconciled against payments received.
Security controls are configured for each project. We do not claim certification, compliance or immunity from attack unless independently verified for your deployment.
