Service 12
Backup & Disaster Recovery
Keep working when hardware fails, ransomware strikes or a site goes offline.
Overview
Backup & Recovery
We protect the data and systems your organisation depends on with automated, encrypted backups and a tested plan to recover them. Our work covers backup strategy, on-site and cloud backup, server and database backup, Microsoft 365 and email backup, ransomware-resistant (immutable and offline) copies, disaster recovery planning, failover, recovery testing and monitoring.
The problem
Backups that nobody checks, copies kept on the same server they protect, and no written plan for the day a disk dies, a laptop is stolen or ransomware locks every file. Most organisations only discover their backup does not work when they need it.

From risk to recovery
How we make your data recoverable
A backup is only as good as the restore. We design around how quickly you need each system back, then prove it with real tests.
- 06Clear stages
- 6Deliverables you keep
- Your sign-off at every stage
-
Step 01 1–3 days Data & risk assessment
We list your systems, data and where it lives, and identify what would stop the business if it were lost.
You receive: Data inventory & risk summary
-
Step 02 1–2 days Recovery objectives
Together we agree how much data you can afford to lose (RPO) and how fast each system must be back (RTO).
You receive: Agreed RPO & RTO
-
Step 03 2–4 days Backup design
Local, off-site and cloud copies are planned on the 3-2-1 rule, with encryption, retention and ransomware-resistant copies.
You receive: Backup & DR design
-
Step 04 Project-based Implementation
Backup software, storage and cloud targets are installed and configured, and the first full backups are completed and verified.
You receive: Running, verified backups
-
Step 05 1–2 days Recovery testing
We restore files, databases and whole servers to prove the plan works, then write the step-by-step recovery runbook.
You receive: Test report & DR runbook
-
Step 06 Ongoing Monitoring & review
Every job is monitored, failures are fixed quickly and the plan is reviewed as your systems change.
You receive: Backup reports & reviews

FAQ
Common questions
Where are our backups stored?
Usually in at least two places: a local copy for fast restores and an encrypted off-site or cloud copy, following the 3-2-1 rule. The design depends on your data, budget and recovery targets.
Will backups protect us from ransomware?
Backups that are immutable or kept offline cannot be encrypted by ransomware, so clean data can be restored. We combine them with security measures that reduce the chance of an attack in the first place.
How do we know the backups work?
We run scheduled test restores and send reports, so recovery is proven before you need it.
